The books

What does Trois Étoiles Press publish?

Trois Étoiles Press is an independent publishing house. We publish children’s and YA fiction, contemporary romance and psychological thrillers — every title a paperback, made properly rather than run off cheaply. The full catalogue is in the bookshop, and there is a page for each of our authors.

What age are the Ellis Greaves books for?

Most are written for readers of seven and up. The Wetherford Code is for 12+, and The Rowan Five & The Whispers of Ashwyke is for 14+. Ages are a guide rather than a rule — children read at their own pace.

Are A.B. Esson’s books suitable for teenagers?

They are written for adult readers.

Can I read part of a book before I buy it?

Yes. The whole of chapter one of every book is free to read on the site — no download and no sign-up. Start at read the first chapters free.

Do the children’s books feature neurodivergent characters?

Yes. Ellis Greaves’s characters think in different ways, and the books show that through who those characters are and how they work things out, rather than through labels or explanations.

Are the books part of a series?

Several are. The Mathematical Mishaps of the Numskulls, the Popcorn Brain Adventures (Max and the Thousand Thoughts, Max and the Daydream Detour), the Pattern Seekers books beginning with The Wetherford Code, and The Rowan Five & The Whispers of Ashwyke. Each one also reads perfectly well on its own.

What format are the books?

Paperback. Every book in the shop is a paperback, printed to a proper trade standard rather than run off cheaply.

How much is delivery?

Delivery within the UK is free on every order.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Orders are dispatched within one to two working days.

Can I have a book signed?

Yes, and there is no charge. On every book you can tick “have this copy signed by the author” and say who it should be signed to, which is useful if it is a present.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Not from this shop at the moment — orders here are delivered within the UK. Readers elsewhere can find the books on Amazon.

How do I pay?

By card. Payments are handled securely by Stripe, and card details never touch this website.

Can I collect my order at an event?

Yes. At checkout you can choose festival collection instead of home delivery, and pick your order up from us at one of the fairs listed on the events page.

Can I buy the books in a bookshop?

Ask your local independent bookshop to order them in — we are always happy to supply. Booksellers can get in touch for trade terms.

Schools, libraries and trade

Do you do school visits?

Yes. Ellis Greaves visits schools and libraries. Get in touch and tell us the year group and what you have in mind.

Do you offer wholesale or trade pricing?

Yes, for schools, libraries and retailers. Contact us with what you are looking for and we will send terms.

Can I request a review copy?

Reviewers, bloggers and journalists are welcome to ask. Get in touch with the title you would like and where the review will appear.

About the press

Do you accept manuscript submissions?

No. Trois Étoiles Press is closed to submissions and cannot consider unsolicited manuscripts.

Where can I meet the authors?

At book fairs and festivals around the country. The dates we are booked for are on the events page — come and browse, read a first chapter, and have your copy signed.

How do I hear about new books?

Letters from the Press goes out a few times a year with new titles, first chapters and where to find us. Never more often than that.

How do I get in touch?
